End of Life Care

When medical treatments can no longer cure a disease, our interdisciplinary team of end of life care professionals still can do a great deal to reduce anxiety and offer needed spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families. We introduce gradual, non-crisis transitions from curative care to hospice care. There is time to talk, to try treatments and therapies, and to ensure comfort and dignity.

The terms end-of-life care, palliative care, hospice care and comfort care are used interchangeably.

Our end-of-life care, palliative care, hospice care and comfort care experts focus on a number of areas, including:

  • Addressing concerns of patients and their families
  • Meeting emotional and spiritual concerns
  • Supporting patient dignity
  • Meeting social and cultural needs
  • Providing bereavement support for families.

Our End of Life services have been shown to reduce distress, stress and suffering for patients and their families coping with serious illness or disease. The benefits of our end of life care are not limited to the end stages of an illness or disease. Patients and their families benefit from this form of care at any stage of their illness.
